Note – Make Sure You Have Enabled Show Hidden Files and Folders in Your Windows.

  • Here Delete the File with name ‘Web Data’
  • Open Your Google Chrome and you will not See the Error Again.

b) For Windows XP

  • First of all Close Your Google Chrome Browser.
  • Navigate to the Following Location.

C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\

  • Delete the File with name ‘Web Data’
  • Open Your Google Chrome and you will not See the Error Again.

c) For Mac OSX

  • First of all Close Your Google Chrome Browser
  • Open Your Terminal
  • Change directory (cd) to /Users/{user}/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default
  • Now Delete the Files : rm -rf History*; rm -rf Web\ Data;
  • Open Your Google Chrome and you will not See the Error Again

d) For Linux

  • Close Your Google Chrome Browser.
  • Open a shell.
  • Change directory (cd) to ~/.config/google-chrome/Default
  • Now Delete the Files : rm -rf Web\ Data;
  • Open Your Google Chrome and you will not See the Error Again.

If You want to Save or Keep Your Previous Google Chrome Settings then You can Try the Following Method.

  • Close Your Google Chrome.
  • Go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
  • Rename the Default Folder to any Name say ‘Default Backup’
  • Now Create a New Folder With Name as ‘Default’
  • Now Copy Files from your Previous Default Folder i.e From the Default Backup Folder to the New Folder ‘Default’ One by One and Keep Checking Chrome by Opening again and again after copying each individual File
  • This Will help you to Find the Corrupted File and Will also help you in Keeping Your Previous Old Google Chrome Profile Settings.

Method – 3

If all the Above Given Methods doesn’t Work For You which is a Very Rare Chance then follow the Below instructions.

  • Close Your Google Chrome Web Browser
  • Go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
  • Here Remove Everything From the User Data Folder or Delete the User Data Folder.

Note – After Deleting Your User Data Folder Google Chrome will recreate a New User Data Folder so there is no Problem in Deleting the User Data Folder.

  • Open Your Chrome and Your Error will be Definitely Fixed.
  • That’s all and You are all Done.
