This error can also occur if you have a corrupted file with an unfinished job. In case you have closed Firefox before the downloading finished then the chances are there that might get corrupted. However, to fix this issue what you can do is create new places data base. To do this follow below given steps.

  • Click on Firefox tab and select Help.
  • Now select troubleshooting Information and then go to Application Basics.
  • Now open Firefox profile folder, by clicking on Show Folder.
  • Now find Places.sqlite and change it to places.sqlite.old.
  • Once done, now restart Firefox. After the restart new places database will be created.

Method 2: Update / Remove Outdated Plugin to Fix Firefox Not Responding Error

Method 4: Restore Firefox to Default State

If nothing seems working then you might have to go restoration way. Most of the time restoring Firefox settings to default settings solves the problem. To restore Firefox do the following.

Go to Help and select Troubleshooting Information. Next, click on Reset Firefox and then Reset Firefox  when asked to confirm the decision. Click on Finish to restart Firefox.
