Method 1 – Turning Off Proxy

Before trying other fixes it is essential that you should first check your Internet Proxy settings because they are cases when there manual proxy settings were set to ON state either due to recent windows update or maybe due to some other windows changes therefore make sure that your manual proxy settings are turned OFF and to do so just follow the below given steps.

  • Hover your mouse to the top right corner of your screen to open Windows Charms Menu and Click on Settings -> Change PC Settings as shown below in the screen shot.

  • Go to Network -> Proxy -> Turn off manual proxy as shown below.

Note – If your Internet Proxy settings are set by default in OFF state then try the below given alternative fixes.

Method 2 – Manipulating Cache Folder

  • Open Task Manager by pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL altogether and Kill the Store app and the Store Broker service.
  • Open file manager and Go to Windows directory and navigate to the following directory

C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Packages\\WinStore_[xxxxx values]\LocalState

Note – Here[Your Username] is your username and [xxxxx values] can be any garbage value followed by WinStore_

  • Here you will find Cache folder and just rename this Cache folder to CacheTemp

Note – There are cases while renaming Cache folder to CacheTemp you may face errors like the path is too long and can’t be renamed therefore in such cases open CMD Command prompt and type: subst t: C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Packages\\WinStore_[xxxxx values]\LocalState and navigate to this new drive t: and here type rename Cache CacheTemp

  • Create a new folder with Cache name.
  • That’s it and now try to access Windows store once again and hopefully this time you won’t face the same error.

Method – 3 : Powershell Command

  • Type Powershell in Windows search box and right click on it -> Select Run As Administrator

  • Paste or Type the below given command and press Enter.

Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.XML

  • Restart your system and you will no longer face the same Windows store not working ERROR 0X80072EE2

Method – 4 : Check your System Date and Time

Make sure that your system is having correct date and time along with your country time zone. To change the system time and date click on the system clock displayed at the taskbar and select “Change Date and Time Settings….”

  • Hover your mouse to the top right corner of your screen to open Windows Charms Menu and Click on Settings -> Select Control Panel ->  Select small icons by clicking on the view option displayed at the top right.
  • Select Administrative Tools -> Double Click on Services -> Right Click on Background Intelligent Transfer Service -> Select Properties.

  • Under General tab make sure that Automatic (Delayed Start) is selected nxt to startup type and is in running state.
  • If it in stop mode just click on start and click apply.

Method – 6 : Disable Windows firewall or Antivirus firefox
