Here in this Post I am Going to Tell you How to Disable Offline Files Using Registry Key in Windows 7,XP,Vista.Basically Offline Files are provided with default option to Disable them Manually without Using Windows Registry Editor.You Can easily Disable Offline Files in Windows by Using Control Panel Learn How to Disable Offline Files in Using Control Panel From Here.Here below is a Step by Step Guide on How to Disable Offline Files Using Registry Key in Windows 7,XP and Vista

Disable Offline Files Using Registry Key  – Micorsoft XP

  • First of all Open Windows Registry Editor by Typing ‘regedit’ in RUN Dialog Box
  • Now Search For the Following Key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MRxSmb\Parameters

  • Now You Need to Create a New Registry Value Under Parameters With the Name ‘CSCEnabled’ and its type Should be ‘REG_DWORD’
  • Set the Value of this New Registry Key i.e ‘CSCEnabled’ equal to 0
  • Restart Your Computer So that New Effects Can take Place
  • That’s all and You are all Done

Note – This Will disable the Offline Files For all the Users on the System and You Will not Be able to Make any changes directly in Folder Options as all the Offline Files Options Will look Greyed Out as shown below in the ImageDisable Offline Files Using Registry Key

Disable Offline Files Using Registry Key  – Microsoft Windows 7 and Vista

By default in Microsoft Windows 7 and Vista these Offline Files have a Service Running in the System already.In Order to Disable them You can Manually Stop these Services But these Offline Files will be again Regenerated When You Restart Your Computer.So In-order to Disable them Permanently Forever You need to Disable Offline Using Registry Key

  • First of all Open Windows Registry Editor by Typing ‘regedit’ in RUN Dialog Box
  • Now Search For the Following Key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC

  • Now on the Right Hand Side You will See Different Registry Values and Here Find Registry Value with Name ‘Start’ and Change its Value to 4
  • Restart Your Computer So that New Effects Can take Place
  • That’s all and You are all Done
