Google android has not only helped the customers only but also helped small IT firms to expand their business thereby creating thousands of job opportunities for developers.

I am also an existing android customer having experience of more than 2years using an android smartphone during which i have learned a lot about the core android operating system, rooting and much more. During my usage i have faced various different android errors out of which most common and irritating one are Error 403 Google Playstore and Error 927 Google Playstore that i have already discussed in my previous articles with proper solutions to resolve the issue permanently and here today also i am going to cover another popular android error that is “Unfortunately Google Playstore has stopped working” which has now started to affect majority of the android users. Though I have not faced this error much just once or twice and it got resolved with simple cache clearing but there are cases where you may have to try more than one fixes in order to fix this error which i have covered below step by step as per their priorities. Method – 1 : Clearing Old Cache

If you have read my earlier posts I have discussed various times clearing cache is one of the best method to fix or avoid such errors on your Android device. Always try to clear your old cache either manually or via free third party apps like AppCacheCleaner.

How to Clear Old Cache Manually :

  • Open your Android Device Settings -> Go to Applications -> Select All -> Google Play store.

  • Click on Clear data , Clear Cache and then Force stop as shown below.

  • That’s it retry downloading apps from Google Play store and most likely this time you will no longer face the same error.

Note – It is better to restart your Android device after clearing the Old Cache files.

Method – 2 : Managing Google Play store Updates

There are some cases when either a recent update or too old version of Google play store results in Unfortunately Google play store has stopped working error while updating apps or downloading apps from Play store therefore it is better to check if you are facing the error after a recent update then it is advisable to roll back the changes done in update and if your Google Play store has not been updated for a long time then it is better that you should try to update Google play store and check whether your problem is resolved or not

Uninstall Google Play store Update :

  • Open your Android Device Settings -> Go to Applications -> Select All -> Google Play store.
  • Here Select Uninstall Updates and that’s it retry downloading or updating apps from play store.

Method – 3 : Try Disabling Internet Data Service : WiFi Only

If after trying the above listed fixes you are still unable to resolve the error Unfortunately Google Playstore has stopped working then it is better that you should try switching from the Internet Data Services to WiFi Internet connectivity and then try accessing Google Playstore because such error are often faced because of poor internet connectivity or slow speed internet connections therefore try disabling Internet Data services and switch to WiFi Mode.

  • To Disable Go to Settings -> Wireless and Networks -> Mobile networks -> Turn off Use Packet Data

  • That’s it and hopefully you should no longer face the same error.
