BSNL and MTNL both are the two most reputed telecom and broadband internet service providers in India with over millions of satisfied customers. I have been using MTNL for last 2 years but since last few weeks i am having a hard time using MTNL Broadband most of the time the line remains dead and when the line is live the speed is not up to the mark very poor slow internet speed with High ping and slow response time. It is quite obvious that when the line is dead you can’t do much except for calling the MTNL Customer care and asking them to fix the line as soon as possible but what if all the line and instruments are fine but still suffering with MTNL Slow internet speed high pings? – If that’s the case then here below are some useful tips that you should follow to get better performance and high internet speed. Use Google DNS or Open DNS:

If your line is fine and internet light is blinking correctly on your router but still finding difficulty loading web pages or very slow browsing speed and there are some special cases where the download speed is fine but unable to load or browse web pages properly therefore in such situations this can be easily resolved by using Google DNS Address or Open DNS Address instead of default MTNL DNS Server address. I am using the Google DNS address and now my internet works just awesome without any drop issues.

How to Change DNS Server Address: Steps to follow

  • Go to Your Network Adapter Settings -> Right Click on your Network Adapter -> Select Properties.

  • Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and here Select Use the following DNS Server addresses.

Google DNS Address

  • Preferred DNS Server – 8.8.8.8
  • Alternate DNS Server – 8.8.4.4

OR

Open DNS Address

  • Preferred DNS Server – 208.67.222.222
  • Alternate DNS Server – 208.67.220.220
