Well the reason for facing Windows could not find recovery environment error lies deep within the partitions operation so I can’t tell you the proper reason in detail but what I can tell you is that this error results from Wiping or Clearing your Partition data via using some third party partition manager tools or CCLEANER Wipe Free disk space feature. Steps to Follow :

  • First of all Run Command Prompt via RUN Command box and typing CMD there and Hit Enter.

  • Now you need to select the partition with Recovery Name and to select the partition type the following command.

select partition # (Replace # with 1,2,3…etc depending upon your CMD Screen in the above screen shot the partition is 1 so if you too see partition 1 as your Recovery Partition then replace # with 1)

set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac

  2. Thank you for this.

I have Windows 10, and tried this and everything looked as you say here, but in the end, I got “REAGENTC.EXE: Windows RE image was not found.”

I know I did have the recovery environment…until yesterday, when AVG PC Tuneup has deleted it somehow.

Do I have to purchase Windows 10 disc if I ever want to reset my computer to factory setting?

    1. Actually I haven’t tried with Windows 10 but the solution should have worked for you….You should better try looking for searching over Internet and you would definitely find a working fix rather than going for a fresh purchase of Windows 10

  3. I was able to download a legit copy of Windows 10 onto a disc from Microsoft. (Available free to Win 7 and 8.* owners, I believe.) It wasn’t that I needed to restore my computer right now, but I experimented with the disc, anyway, which worked. Still no recovery environment, but for now, this is good enough. Thank you for taking time for me.
