For Windows XP Users :

  • Go to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\vlc and here just delete vlcrc file and also delete everything in the cache folder.
  • That’s it now try running the files again with VLC media player and this time hopefully you won’t face the same error.

For Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Users :

  • Go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\vlc and also delete the vlcrc file and delete cache files.

Note – If you don’t see any cache folder then cache files would be lying outside with very big names like ef9c9ad8cc5857eb63cb3660bc8bd202-x86_64 and their file type would be of Cache.

  • That’s it now try running the files again with VLC media player and this time hopefully you won’t face the same error.
