How to Test VPN Connectivity Inside Network : Steps to Follow

• Go to the Client Computer by which you want to Connect to the Main Host Computer and Open Control Panel and then Select Network and Internet and then Select Network and Sharing Center and You will get to the Connections list

• Now Select Set Up a New Connection or Network under Change Your Network Settings Options as shown below

• After Selecting Set Up a New Connection It will start a Wizard and will ask you to Choose a Connection Option

• Select Connect to A Workplace and Click Next as shown below

• Now You will be asked if you want to Create a New Connection or Use an Existing Connection. Choose Create New Connection as shown below

• It will then ask you How do you want to Connect and Select Use My Internet Connection (VPN) as shown below

• Next it will ask you the Internet address to which you want to connect and Here you need to enter the IP Address of the HOST OR SERVER Computer .You can get your IP Address by typing “ipconfig” in cmd (Command Prompt).Note you need to Find the IP Address of Host Computer so type this Command in the Host Computer

• Finally it will ask you to enter the Username and Password in order to connect to your VPN.It will be known to you because you often need it to get it into your server.

• Now it will connect the Client Computer to the Main Host or Server Computer after verifying the Username and Password

• You are all done and if you want to check whether you can access the shared folders or not Just type \\SERVER ( Here SERVER is the name of your VPN SERVER if you have provided some other name type that name after adding the prefix \\ ) in the RUN Dialog box (Press Win + R to Open RUN Box) and it will show you the whole list of all files and folders
